I woke up a couple of weeks ago to the sound of my own snoring. then 2day I was starting to wake up and heard myself snoring, heavily this time! is that part of late pregnancy (I’m 38 weeks) or am I developing a snoring habit?

  1. Renae says:

There is a increase in blood during pregnancy to nourish the baby. This causes the blood vessels to enlarge.
This happens in the throat and nose, the mucus membranes start bloating which in turn causes an obstruction making it difficult to breath and hence the snore.
Statitical studies show 24% of pregnant woman start snoring during pregnancy. usually goes away after pregnancy

It’s because your baby is laying on your airways. This late in the game it’s hard enough to breath. Your probably not developing the annoying habit. I did it too.

  3. Beth says:

Snoring is common in pregnancy because all of your mucous membranes are swollen. It will go away after baby comes, at least it did for me.
