.. since he is the closest in proximity to the source of the racket (it’s from his own nose & mouth).
however, family, neighbours, even the dog are never spared, even though they are located relatively further away from the source of the noise (save for the poor spouse, who is the next closest)…. ????????

    The are having arousals. They are so tired that they do not realize it. Snoring is a symptom of sleep apnea. The snoring is an obstruction of airflow. The pause at the top of the snore is the apnea or stoppage of breathing and then the snort is the awaking of the body to breath again.
    People who are chronic snorers should see a doctor and have a sleep study.
    Symptoms of sleep apnea include fatigue even after sleeping 8 hours, need to nap, morning headaches, sometimes high blood pressure, need to go to the bathroom during the night, and many more.

    because most times the person doing the snoring may not even know they are doing it. its just the body fighting for air.
