I snore a lot (and loud!) and my new gf can not take it.
What are my options for stopping this? Do the breathe right strips work?
I do NOT want to wear one of the mask things because that is just too creepy! lol

Twenty percent of all adults are chronic snorers, and 45% of normal adults snore occasionally. As people grow older, their chance of snoring increases. Approximately half of all individuals over 60 snore regularly.http://hubpages.com/_jzccc9vgz55/hub/Wha…

The breathrite nasal strips work fairly well in. I know that you stated that you don’t want to wear one of those ‘creepy’ masks. Those are for people with sleep apnea. My husband has worn one now for over six years and without it he would have been dead. So if you don’t stop breathing or turn blue during the night I wouldn’t worry about needing one just yet. Other techniques are to litterally have a tennis ball sewn into a pocket in the back of your sleep shirt. This makes it uncomfortable to sleep on your back and thus you sleep on your side eliminating the positional snoring. There are also dental devices that can be made by your dentist to help hold your mouth open and your tongue forward. This keeps the obstruction from occuring and the therefore the snoring doesn’t happen. Just a few things to think about.

I have a miracle story with the breathe-right strips.
My father has been snoring, incredibly loud, my entire life. My poor mom couldn’t sleep through a single night because of it, and it would often even wake me— a story down and across the house.
Being stubborn as a mule– my dad refused to try the strips until my mom developed cancer and absolutly needed a full night’s sleep.
    No more snoring.
I’ll tell you, honestly, if those strips work on my dad, they’ll work on anyone. No lie, give them a try.

I have snored for years, the only thing that works for me is a mouthpiece called “snorban”. It is around $25 but is well worth it and lasts for about a year. It is fitted to your mouth to hold your lower jaw forward. Once you get used to it (usually 2 or 3 nights) you don’t even notice it in. It does not work for everyone, but it works great for me. I wake up much more refreshed and my wife is not sleeping on the couch.

If you have sleep apnea, I don’t think anything works. My bf snores really loudly and I bought these pills called snore stop. I got them online, but they sell them over the counter at CVS or most drugstores. They didn’t help him but maybe they could help you. He has bad sleep apnea and they won’t help that.
PS. The breathe right strips DO NOT help him!

Well you should give those nose strips a try, they seem easy to use…if that doesn’t work, then maybe you should investigate further, why you snore, here’s a great place to find more info : http://www.helpguide.org/life/snoring.ht…

My bf snores a lot – REALLY bad. The breathe right strips really help. They don’t completely eliminate all snoring, but they make it a lot softer and more regular (no giant gasps and snorts). Sometimes he’s even almost silent!
    It’s definitely worth a try.
