Nasal strips are good,
getting him to sleep on his side – many techniques here including sowing tennis balls into pyjamas tops.
Depending on his size he may need to lose some weight or not drink alcohol before going to bed.

Bring him to doctor. I also heard that a very soft pillow can help.
