Need more info, like make, model and year with engine size. With out being able to hear it, it will be hard to give you an answer.

Could be a vacuum leak or intake manifold air leak or resonance where the cold air intake connects to the throttle body. Any air rushing in through a constricted passageway can create noises like whistling etc. Check Hyundai’s Technical Service Bulletins etc at http://www.edmunds.com/ownership/mainten…

You may get a groaning sound from the brakes sometimes while stopped and with the transmission in drive and your foot on the brake.http://www.hmaservice.com/authenticator/…

Any hint as to what type of car you are talking about? And when you say relatively new , is that in years or just new to you? Could be a warranty issue.
