If you’re overweight, that’s a major contributing factor. Lose weight and I guarantee your snoring will improve.
Beyond that, get with your Doctor and go for an overnight sleep study. I had the same problem. My wife wore earplugs for years. I finally went for the sleep study and found that I had sleep apnea. Was actually “waking” 40+ times an hour. That would explain why I was tired all the time even though I thought I was getting 7-8 hours of sleep a night.
I started using a CPAP machine about 6 years ago. Don’t snore any more, wife doesn’t wear ear plugs any more and I sleep like a baby and never get tired during the day.
You can check out the link below for additional info on Apnea and CPAP machines.

To get rid of your snoring problems, try to sleep on your side or stomach or raise the head of the bed four to six inches Avoid snoring problems by not using alcohol as a night cap and stop smoking.
A few of these tips to avoid the snoring problems are not to eat a heavy meal before sleeping, to lose weight and to try nasal dilators to keep nostrils open and so on.

You should get checked for sleep disorders like sleep apnea, which is usually what causes the loud snoring. Normal snoring shouldn’t be any louder than a kitten’s purr, and shouldn’t last all night. Then she wouldn’t have to avoid you at nights. In the meantime, try sleeping on your side or elevate your pillows, they both open your airways to minimize snoring.

If none of the above seems to help, talk to your doctor about the many surgical procedures available to control your snoring problems.

try a number of things, for example, putting a bung up each nostril, or filling your troat with wax. failing this sleep on your side, it has been found that you won’t snore if you sleep on your side. either this or suggest to your wife that she wears a set of earplugs. and if that doesn’t work then try injecting yourself with pure caffine every 4 hours to prevent sleeping.
