Hi my mum has strated complaining i snore (just started) it is a type of sleep apnia, ask your wife when you start snoring is it because of a position you lie in? (like your back) do you stop breathing?
If you stop breathing then you have sleep apnia and need to see a specialist (like me) but if you snore on your back it is the muscle in your throat relaxing and the air makes it vibrate, try to learn not to sleep on the back, if you have to wedge a support cushion behind you so you can’t roll over, after awhile you learn not to roll over and your wife can sleep again.

If your snoring is severe (i.e., it’s really loud and it disturbs your or someone else sleeping with you), you may have sleep apnea (which means you stop breathing in your sleep). Most people who have sleep apnea do not know they have it until they have a sleep study. Do you wake yourself up snoring or gasping for air? Do you wake up choking? Do you feel really tired during the day? If you do any of those things, you should talk to your doctor about seeing a sleep specialist and getting a sleep study. Those are all signs of sleep apnea. Sleep apnea can be dangerous to you and others, especially if you are sleepy while driving. It can increase your risk of cardiac disease as well. If you have sleep apnea, you can be treated with what’s called a CPAP. It provides pressure to keep your airway open while you sleep. This stops the snoring and keeps you from having apnea.

Sid, She is right, sometimes the strips help but………….
Email me at cwaltersart@yahoo.com so we can talk privately, I might be able to help ya.
Everyone’s answers are correct and the pot you are speaking of is called a “neti pot” and they work great, especially if you have sinus or allergy problems. What I am trying to see is if he has other symptoms like he stops breathing, if he’s a bit overweight ’cause it could be sleep apnea which sucks, believe me I had it and my snoring nearly caused a divorce until I figured it out. I went on a c-pap machine for a few months, lost a few pounds and stopped snoring.

you can go to the drug store and ask the druggist to show you the strippers for snoring =they help to keep your nose open so you won’t snore
