My husband also has this problem. We've tried using a humidifer while sleeping. We found ours at www.vitalitymedical.com. Good luck.

Most problem snoring comes from block throat airways and not from the nasal passages. That's why nasal strips often don't work.
I use a product called Slumber Guard that keeps the throat airway open.
It works for me!

Step1Put several pillows behind his head to elevate it and prevent the blockage of his throat passageway. When the pillow is too low the tongue falls to the back of the throat limiting the air passageway.
Step2Use firm pillows and not the soft, fluffy kind. The throat relaxes and constricts the passageway if the pillow is too soft.
Step3Convince your spouse to lie on her side when she is sleeping instead of her back.
Step4Encourage, kindly, that your spouse lose weight. Join a weight loss program together. If a person is overweight there is an increase in the amount of fatty tissue in the throat which narrows the passageway.
Step5Steer clear of dairy products before going to bed. Dairy causes mucus buildup.
Step6Avoid alcohol and sleep aides. These substances relax the throat muscles, narrowing the passageways.
Step7Sleep with a humidifier. The steam decreases the amount of congestion and soothes the throat.
