I’m a chick, and after gaining a lot of weight, I snore. I know losing weight is the BEST thing to do, and I am currently working on that, but in the meantime….

Which OTC remedies work best?

**I sleep on my side to try and prevent the snoring, but my boyfriend says it’s obviously not working. *lol* When I’m on my back, I actually seem to have sleep apnea. (I don’t have insurance at this time)

    Hi,
OSA (apnea) is a very dangerous condition. I advise you to look it up on the Net. As we gain weight. Our airways are more prone to collapsing under the increased pressure. I hear what you’re saying about not having insurance. I strongly advise you to follow up on this when you do again.

For now, you could try nasal strips. You get them @sporting goods shops. They apply across the top of your nose. “Pulling” the nares open from the outside. Oral airways (dental appliance) cost about $500… C-PAP are even more bucks. Losing the weight is cheap, & pays other dividends. Good Luck.
