I want a remedy for the snoring. Just something temporarily while I am working on losing the weight.

I sleep on my side to try and prevent the snoring, but my boyfriend says it’s obviously not working. *lol* When I’m on my back, I actually seem to have sleep apnea. (I don’t have insurance at this time, that’s why I need something OTC)

No store remedy is going to do the trick better than just losing weight. Snoring is a serious thing. it means you are suffering from sleep apnea, meaning you stop breathing at some point during the night and you snore to get air back before you suffocate.
See an ear, nose and throat doctor for help asap.

Often times snoring goes along with weight gain. That’s what you need to work on. Lose the weight.

The best way to quit snoring is to lose weight.
while you are working on that, sleep on your stomach.

My fiance snores like the dickens, keeping me up at night. I got a box of the nose strips and use them as needed. They don’t always work completely, but they usually at least turn the noise level down enough that I can fall asleep.

Lose weight. This will help with your snoring. You have excess weight that puts pressure on your breathing when you lie down. For other reasons such as your heart and overall health lose some weight. I know it can be a difficult task especially with a new baby. After I had my son I did Tae Bo it help me get back in shape and gave me confidence. Good luck.

My husband tried them all, from the sprays to the nose strip that opens your nose more. Nothing worked. He now uses a CPAP machine and it works. (It’s for sleep apnea)

I have also gained weight (after I finished having kids and nursing, I just kept eating like I was preg. or nursing, and 5 lbs magically appear every year, heh heh) and I snore now. Sometimes I just go sleep in the guest room if I’m bothering my husband. Or if his CPAP machine is bothering me, lol.

I’m sorry — I know this is no help at all. I know that what I really need to do is lose the weight, but I love food. What can I say? :) Good luck… I hope you find something that works for you.

Make an appointment with a pulmonary doctor to find out whether or not you have sleep apnea. Snoring results when you have sleep apnea, which is a very serious condition that can even be fatal. Weight gain / excessive weight is a big contributing factor in sleep apnea. Even if you don’t have this condition, it would be wise to get on a healthy eating plan and get some good aerobic exercise at least 3-4 times a week. You’ll find that you’ll feel a lot better and the snoring may even disappear.
