i have a 6 month old pit bull who snores like a trucker. it doesn’t bother me, but im concerned that it bothers her. It sounds like she has alot of mucous or boogers that shes snorting. Sometimes she sounds like shes gagging on it and has to hock a loogie to stop or blow her nose but she hasnt learned that trick yet. I’m just wondering if theres any remedies or tricks to help her sleep better! thanks!
is a baby sucker safe? i dont wanna hurt her little nose. im sure it might help tho.
thanks for the help but my pit will eat ur shitzu

you should get her a baby sucker, the one that people use to get mucus out of babies, and use it on her

No there isnt any remedies to get rid of it I have 3 pitbulls the first one I got she snored so loud she woke herself up she grew out of it but sometimes when she is really tired she snored and sleeps right through it I have another puppy that snores a little right now but not too bad the reason they snore is because their snow is short I know bulldogs have issues with snoring and they dont have a long snout like the pitbulls do and that is why they snore worse.

I don’t know of any remedies but my dog snores to and does this snorting noise that sounds hilarious but it clears his nasal passage and throat then he coughs up phlegm. I had to take him to the vet and it turns out it’s an airbourne allergy of some sort so they have him on steroids which keeps all his airways open. I have tried various antihistamines but none of them have worked for him. Maybe one will work for your dog. There are some human antihistamines that can be used on dogs, phenergon is one, claratyne, Zyrtec or Telfast are others. If she has a runny nose this could drie it up and help with the snoring. Hope this has helped a bit.

Yes, a lot of dogs snore and loud and when sleeping the membranes relax and they can become filled and thus causing them to have to hack it up to go back to sleep.
it is normal and she is okay, it will not hurt her at all.
I took my Newfie to the vet, Bo was doing the same thing and that is what my vet told me, it was normal……he checked his nostrils and said it is due the relaxation of the membranes and would not hurt the dog………and he was right, sometimes if Bo sleeps kinda on his back, he does it, I just kinda push on him, he moves over and then no more sounding like bubbles in his nose….
she will be just fine, but if really concerned she is choking on something, just let your bet do a quick check on her and bet your vet will say the same thing that ours did.
we also have 4 vets in our dog club and they all agreed with my vet……
other than you getting some ear plugs to drown out the snoring, she will be okay…
I like the snores like a trucker, that was cute.
good luck

I don’t have a remedy to stop a dog from snoring; however, I would love to wake to my cocker spaniel snoring just one more time. He passed away in December and snoring is just one of the things I never thought I would miss but do! Enjoy your buddy, snoring and all!
