Question by Is that all there is?: Snoring! What do I do?Someone told me lately I will not find a man because I can hear snoring..?
I have good hearing. Isn’t this good? But alsmost every man over 40, sometimes even less, snores and disturbs my sleep. Yet men say they want me to sleep next to them. What do I do? Even good earplugs, I find some french brand the best wax ones, hurt your ears inthe end and they even fall off the ear during sleep. I do want to cuddle with a man but which is preferable or more vital, Sleep or a companion? Both for me, as is food. When I do not sleep I also do not eat ..but then when I do not have a companion I also don’t eat. Do you see the problem?
Let me also say that it is hard for men to accept to sleep on separate beds, even in the same room.
How is it some people sleep right away and heavily?
I also know that surgery of the epiglotis or the nose is not always succesful snore wise. Also snoring does apnia which pressures the heart and creates heart problems from the thorax pushing on the heart.
Thanks for answers. This is a serious problem for me: sleep deprivation
I have a vibrator..but this does not prevent the others from snoring! ha,ha!
Shelley O: Please tell me what is the mask you r talking about? (Unfortunatelly, I find it is really hard for snorers to admit that their snore disrupts the sleep of others even if you record them on tape!, let alone do something about it, )
What should I do now? I appreciate your communications Shelley O.
It still seems a tabu to me, will feel guilty some how, if companion would have to wear a mask even if it was good for him except if he was wearing it before. Do you mind ? i think the best solution would be, if such luck,1. to find one who does n’t snore AND meets my other requiremens ha,ha, oh like a pin in a hay stack..2. sleep in separate beds- he gets up and goes to another bed when he snores.
Any other ideas?

Question by Marie C: Do I have bad etiquette because I snore loudly and don’t care!?
Roommates tell me I snore like a pig & keep them up nights, people on a plane or train don’t seem to like my snoring, boyfriend thinks I’m unattractive when I sleep because my mouth is wide open. I have even fell asleep and snored during a facial, much to the dislike of the spa. I don’t want to seek treatment because it shouldn’t matter if I snore and drool with my mouth open. People just need to deal with it!!

Question by james g: What to do if I was not satisfied about my sleep study test because I did not sleep!!?
About 4 years ago I did a sleep study test at a hospital near my school because of my extreme tiredness during the day. It seemed as though I needed a nap during each class period. I had a horrible time remembering simple things I learned the day before. Since I was young I snored a lot, but my parents decided it was no big deal since my dad snored to. However I seemed distracted and drowsy all the time which convinced me to take the sleep test nearby. I went in and they did what they normally do by hooking up monitors and devices to me. That night it was cold and I had only one blanket. Freezing the whole night I was unable to sleep the 4 hours I was there. At the end of the test they read my chart and said I was fine and did not even snore. I was outraged and told them I did not even sleep, yet they insisted I did. I was young and did not know what to do so I left it alone. Now 4 years have gone by and my brother a 3rd year medical student noticed I was struggling to breathe at night. He noticed I would stop breathing for 10-15 seconds and gasp for air. He said I woke him up so many time that he was worried. I can’t afford to pay for another study so what should I do? Can I ask the place to redo the test even though it has been 4 years or are there other alternatives?

Answer by Hopefully Helpful
Go to your PCP and tell the doctor that you are still very tired and you know that you stop breathing throughout the night because your brother told you so. Hopefully your doctor will refer you to a sleep clinic. If you have Sleep Apnea you can be fitted for one of those CPAP masks or have your trachea opened up. I hope you will get to the bottom of this. Good Luck. Feel free to let us know how things work out.

Question by xenypoo: Do you think Obama will win the Presidency because too many Republicans will be snoring, not voting?
I am feeling this may be true, since I saw it with the election of Bill Clinton, when less than 1/2 of registered voters even showed up to vote, in BOTH of Bill Clinton’s runs.
One against Bush Sr., and the other against Bob Dole. 39% of registered voters, actuallt voted!
Where are you going to be on voting day, Republican’s?
Sitting down watching football, or snoring America’s freedom, and livlihood away on your 20 year old couch?

Will it be Obama, or McCain?

Best answer:
