Question by Linda M: Has anyone ever fallen asleep & snored during a spa treatment like a massage or facial? Do you think its rude?
Friends tell me its tacky that I do this & the worker probably doesn’t finish the treatment (I snore really loud with my mouth open). I don’t think it should be a big deal.

i have fallen asleep during a massage but i was in school for it at the time. people fall asleep while im giving them a massage all the time. i dont think its rude. in fact it makes me feel good that i was able to relax my client enough to fall asleep. no one that i know would cut your treatment short because of it and if one of us did your body would probably be able to tell you anyway. so dont worry about it. falling asleep relaxes the body and it all works together so if you want to fall asleep go for it bc its kind of a compliment.

Chronic Sleep Apnea. Or whatever the right term is will not be solved by any medicine, natural or synthetic. Your solution consists of:

1. Wear a head brace. It straps your jaw shut which relieves your air passage.

2. Sleep on your side. It again relieves the passage.

3. Surgery.

4. Use a breathing machine. It basically rams air down your throat for you so you don’t have to struggle to suck it in.

Basically, besides keeping others awake, your being sleep deprived. It makes you die younger, among other things.

5. On last method is that like plastic u-shaped clamp that goes in your nostrils. It works for some people who’s problem is not too severe.

When you go to sleep, relax ALL of your muscles, especially in your neck. If you then snore in order to inhale, then change positions. Keep experimenting until you’ve found a position that does not force you to snore. Usually you’ll have to sleep on your side.

If you doctor perscribes clinical observation, your HMO should pay for it.

But sorry, it’s not something that can be dealt with with medicine.

I don’t think that you should be getting one of those for mouth breathing – it’s really for snoring. And, if your nasal passages are blocked then it’s mouth guards are definatley NOT FOR YOU.

You need to see a doctor about your allergies and nasal passages.
