Use those adhesive strips that open your nasal passages. Put metnol vapo rub under your nose. Get a pillow that makes you sleep on your side.

Question by Nikell N: is there a surgery I can undergo to stop from snoring so loudly?
I have apnea and currently use a cpap machine. My issue it that I snore loudly and always have even before I had apnea. It has put a damper on my personal life and I am afraid to get involved with someone because of my loud snoring. There are so many things out in the medical world that doctors can do for people with concerns about their body etc, but I don’t hear of anything but nasal strips out their for people who snore. Is there any medical procedure that can help me?
My question refers to sleep overs where I don’t want to use my cpap machine or naps while other people are around

I’m pretty sure they have nasal strips for people that snore. If you have allergies a lot or sneeze/cough alot and have nasal congestion you may want to see if you have nasal polyps. A large portion of people that snore have nasal polyps and never even know. They can be surgically removed or shrunken with a steroid nasal spray. if the snoring is bothering someone else in the bedroom you may want to check it out.

Question by Marie C: Do I have bad etiquette because I snore loudly and don’t care!?
Roommates tell me I snore like a pig & keep them up nights, people on a plane or train don’t seem to like my snoring, boyfriend thinks I’m unattractive when I sleep because my mouth is wide open. I have even fell asleep and snored during a facial, much to the dislike of the spa. I don’t want to seek treatment because it shouldn’t matter if I snore and drool with my mouth open. People just need to deal with it!!

No, loud snoring doesn’t necessarily mean a person has heart problems. Sometimes it’s simply a problem related to weight and is cured by starting a healthy weight loss and exercise plan. Sometimes the problem is related to the persons adenoids. The surgery to correct this is routine and has a great success rate. The problem could also be due to things like mouth breathing during sleep, dry throat and mouth, or using the wrong type of pillow.
