Question by mjmackinnon: I need to wear earplugs to bed but if I wear both I wake up nauseated so I can only wear 1. Suggestions?
My husband snores – I try to wear one plug and just push the other ear hard into my pillow but it doesn’t work very well. Two plugs blocks him out completely but I wake up dizzy and sick. I wear the cheap foam earplugs, I wonder if there is a brand that won’t do this to me?

It sounds like you might have vertigo, BPPV, or another vestibular disorder. You should get it checked out by an ENT doctor or get a referral for vestibular therapy so that a certified vestibular/physical therapist can check it out.

Question by bahiadave: are there any real solutions for really bad snoring? is surgery only option?

Best answer:

Answer by clickmick
Snoring is a symptom of Sleep Apnea. Since you say that you have really bad snoring, talk to your Dr. Do you wake up with headaches, have day-time sleepiness, even though you sleep 8 hours a night, do sometimes get creepy, crawly feelings in your legs and that you always have to move them to get rid of the feeling (this is known as Restless Leg Syndrome). These are some of the symptoms you can have because of Sleep Apnea. Snoring could also be a problem with your sinuses, adenoids, throat etc. Snoring can be a symptom of other problems too. There are a lot of things that can be done for snoring. Surgery should be your last option. You should be checked by a doctor. You could go see an ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat doctor), a Neurologist, or a doctor that specializes in Respiratory problems, or you can start with your primary care Dr. and he can refer you to a specialist. Your age and your weight can also have something to do with severe snoring.

Question by synholiday: Stop Snore Ring? (please, only those who have actually used it or know someone who has used it)?
Has anyone had any success with the Stop Snore Ring ( http://stopsnorering.com )? Please, no worthless BS answers from those who only “think” it is or might be bogus. I would like answers only from those who have actually had experience with it (tried it before or knows someone who has tried it before). The Stop Snore Ring is quite inexpensive, so I would prefer to start there in finding a remedy, before looking to more expensive snoring aids or seeing my doctor.

I only snore when it is cold outside and I wake up all congested as if I have a cold the entire time during autumn and winter. When I wake up, my mouth tastes like it is full of mucus (I know… very disgusting). I have tried some other decongestants (store brands and Tylenol) but I have not tried Sudafed because I am fearful that it could be habit forming. I have tried breathe right strips and their throat sprays but those do not work at all. I believe my snoring is caused by my being congested during these times but I am no expert. Once I am awake and start moving around for the day, my congestion leaves me completely until during the night while I’m sleeping.

I would love to find a remedy because I miss sleeping next to my wife. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Ok, how about someone who isn’t trying to sell me something answer?
Or better yet, other than the three idiots who have already answered, the first person to say Sudafed works with nasal congestion will get the points.

As for the other products/answers… your products DON’T DO ANYTHING for nasal congestion so not only do you deserve to not get any points, you deserve to get slapped.
