Question by Candy: How do you deal with a situation where both you & your roommate snore loud, but 1 can’t tolerate the other’s?
Well, I live in a single efficiency apartment, & my brother stayed with me for a few days last week. I know I snore, too. But him, OMG! I have sensitive ears (hyperacusis), & I nearly cried every night & couldn’t get any sleep. Music or earplugs didn’t help. I know I need to lose this weight, but I’m not sure if it would stop me from snoring since I had nasal surgery twice as a child.

My gal is a VERY light sleeper, and I have a perforated septum and snore like a buzzsaw. I wear Breathe Right strips–and so should both of you.

Question by Vicki: How can I sleep better with my significant other’s snoring? – I’m a light sleeper!?
I have used ear plus, taken a sleeping pill (which I don’t want to do every night), turned him over (which doesn’t always stop his snoring) and even gone into the other bedroom to catch a few zzz’s. I’m going to look into those nose strips advertised next. Surgery right now is not an option. Help!

Separate rooms! If not an option, thump him every time that he snores, he can’t snore while he is awake.

Question by Leah’s Mommy: Ladies, do your significant others snore?
Mine does, and I can’t stand it! I spent most of my pregnancy sleeping on the couch since it’s more comfortable than my bed, during pregnancy anyway. The past few nights I’ve gone back to our bed and I’ve slept better and not stayed up as late, however I forgot how he snores and it irritates me so I nidge him then he gets mad, so it’s a vicious cycle. I’ve been putting a pillow over my head to drown out the noise but I don’t want to do that in case I don’t hear the baby. Any suggestions? How do you copem or better yet, how do you stop the snoring?

I make my husband sleep on his side, facing away from me. This doesn’t stop the snores, but it isn’t so loud in my ears.

Question by Mommy of 3 boys :) : Why is the sound of snoring so annoying to some and not to others?
I feel like some people can tolerate the sound of snoring quite well, or even just ignore it completely… but I think it is quite possibly the MOST annoying sound in the world!!! Why is it so different for some people, and not for others?

To some, it can be a relaxing metronome. To others, it can be what caused a 2nd degree murder that night. Depends soly on the person and their opinion.
