Question by :]: Should I go to the doctor to see about snoring/sleep apnea?
I’m fifteen years old and my friends tell me I sleep really weird.. I stop snoring for like 3 minutes then I start doing this whistling thing and this goes on all night long. I have super bad sinuses so could it be sleep apnea? What can doctors do if it is sleep apnea?
Oh, and after three minutes, I gasp for air they say. My family even notices.

Go to your doctor and see about a referral to a sleep clinic. They hook you up to a whole bunch of wires that monitor you as you sleep. Afterwards, they may suggest a c-pap machine which consists of a mask that you wear to bed and it forces oxygen into your lungs while you sleep. Also, if you quit breathing at night while you are sleeping, not good – that is what the c-pap machine is for.
Ask your parents to schedule you an appt and go and talk to the doctor!!
Good luck!

Question by Lorena Kelley: How should I deal with a snoring problem?
This summer I’m going to this summer camp where I’ll live for 3 weeks.
Everyone will share one room with a roomate.
Last year (I went to the same camp) my roomate was really nice, but she did mention that I snore and it kind of kept her awake the first night at camp.
This year, how should I handle my snoring problem? Should I just tell my new roomate right off the bat that I snore? And what do I do if it keeps her awake at night?

Question by Trix_R_not_4_kids: What should I do about my bad snoring?
I have really bad snoring and I don’t know what to do. Sometimes when I wake up, I feel bad because I can tell my husband didn’t get enough sleep the night before because of it. A few nights ago, it was so loud that it actually woke me up. It sounds funny, but I can’t believe it’s SOOO loud. What should I do?

Breathe right strips and other otc snore aids. If you are overweight check and make sure you dont have sleep apnea. You may need to sleep with CPAP. Do you wake up at night frequently? Tired often? Overweight? Get checked for sleep apnea.

Question by hellothere: My child does snoring noise while breathing, should I worry?
In the last 2 weeks I hear snoring noises while my 1.5 years old is breathing. This is happening only at the morning and usually after eating yogurt. I can hear snoring noises only for 20-25 minutes and then noise goes away. During this period of time she can’t talk loud, she just whispers. What could be the reason for those noises? I will get her to a doctor in few days, but was wondering is it something serious?

Stop giving her yogurt for now, it could be anaphylaxis and her throat swelling from an allergic reaction.
