Question by Emerald Gypsy: What can I do to sleep well even if some one is snoring?
I understand this is natural and some people can’t help it but some times I get the idea that my room-mate fakes his snoring! is that possible or am I over reacting and being a grouch?

You can’t fake snoring all night long, so if it’s most of the night – I would say it’s not an act.

Earplugs might help.

blocking a noise is dealing with the symptom not the cause of the problem. Your roommate needs help not you. Maybe she needs to change her prescription, dont you think?

She might have sleep apnea. She will need to do a sleep study to see if she has it and there is a machine she can use to help her. Otherwise, losing weight will help too.

Question by ghostlysun: What are some effective ways to stop snoring?
My boyfriend doesn’t snore constantly, but when he does, he keeps me up at night. I end up having to sleep on his couch. He has tried nasal strips, and they are only effective 50% of the time. Any suggestions?
Breathing strips do not work, he is not overweight, and he has told me that he doesn’t want to spend money seeing a specialist. He sleeps on his side for a little while, but ends up on his back. Any other suggestions?
