Question by Jessica Padilla: Any suggestions for the stop of snoring?
I’m going on a trip in April to D.C. & New York. I’m supposed to have 3 other roommates in the hotel & I have a snoring problem . I’m only 13 and I was wondering if anyone has any ideas of a good way to stop my snoring? Or what’s a good brand of those things that you put on your nose & you don’t snore?

I would suggest the Breathe Right strips. My grandmother snores loud enough to keep the entire house up all night, but when we were younger and would sleep over, she would always use the Breathe Right strips so that everyone else could sleep. Now, if only they made them for dogs…

My husband snores – I try to wear one plug and just push the other ear hard into my pillow but it doesn’t work very well. Two plugs blocks him out completely but I wake up dizzy and sick. I wear the cheap foam earplugs, I wonder if there is a brand that won’t do this to me?

It sounds like you might have vertigo, BPPV, or another vestibular disorder. You should get it checked out by an ENT doctor or get a referral for vestibular therapy so that a certified vestibular/physical therapist can check it out.

I snore too and sometimes hear myself right before I dose off. I use breathe right strips and a nasal fluid made especially for people who snore, and it does the job!

Sometimes the breathe right strips work. Try sleeping on your side or on your stomach. Also, if you can keep your mouth closed and breathe through your nose, it will help.

It does not matter if he is on his back or his side. I also snore but men sleep more soundly so therefor he can sleep right through it. I ask him to move his position but as soon as he does he falls fast asleep and the snoring starts again. Most nights I find myself going in my kids’ bed or the couch. Help!

Get those snoring strips at Walgreens or something. They go on the nose and help.

My fiance is fed up with my snoring. I need suggestions. I don’t have the money right now to buy fancy pillows or pills, or anything like that. I just need at-home remedies that will help us both have a restful night!
