Question by cory m: Have you used a “Stop Snoring Wristband”? Does it work?
I am doing research on those “stop snoring” wristbands that has a microphone and sends an electric pulse to make you shift in your sleep and (hopefully) stops snoring

Before I shell out the 50 bucks for it, I wanted to know: Has anyone used one of these? Does it work for you?

Thanks!

I have never heard of them.

But I do use a CPAP machine which did stop my snoring. Have a sleep study done. the machine is not easy to get used to but once you do you feel great because you are get good rest!!

Question by Teena V: What is the dental work that requires four post implanted and then the false teeth snap on the post?
I guess the post is implanted into the bone and the teeth are snapped onto the post…Is this a good way and cost effective way of my problem? Here is my problem, I have a cross bite with an under bite. I have 2 teeth that is over my bottom teeth and the rest is back behind the bottom teeth and I have TMJ… Please help all the dentist are different and says, braces, cut the jaw down, veneers, no veneers, I’m just so confused. Oh this one dentist said he would fix my mouth for $ 45,000 and said that his treatment would stop me from snoring, I told him that he was crazy and that is why you have a beautiful office and drive an expensive car.

Nothing can beat your natural teeth. I wouldn’t be looking at dentures if you still have your natural teeth. Implants are very expensive but are great for replacing a tooth or to help stabilize dentures. Getting dentures and implants are not going to help with your TMJ problems. Your best option may be to go with braces and have surgery to move your jaw–if needed. Have a consultation with an orthodontist (someone who does braces, and they usually work with oral surgeons if you would need jaw surgery) and they will be able to help determine the proper treatment plan for you! Good luck.

Question by KNIKO: Can snoring be cured? Nasal strips, throat sprays don’t work?
is there a cure for snoring? I find myself snoring during winter month, perhaps because of the dryness due to heat. Is there any way to cure this habit. Would a humidifier really help? Is lack of humidity related to snoring. I tried nasal strips and throat sprays, but they do not seem to work

Depending on the cause, you might inquire about a C-PAP device from your doctor. This is a machine (prescribed by your doctor and usually covered by insurance) attached to a mask that you wear while you sleep. The machine has a air pump that gently keeps air flowing through the mask and into your nasal passages while you sleep, keeping open the glottis flap that causes snoring (apnia) when it closes.
If the basic cause of the apnia is being overweight, loosing weight WILL correct the problem This was the case with my husband — we were able to give the C-PAP back to the medical supply house after about 6 months. If the cause is a diviated septum or other nasal abnormality, your doctor may recommend surgery.
Godo luck and Happy Holidays!
