Who Hates It When Your Trying To Sleep And Your Boyfriend Is Snoring?

OMG…isn’t it awful!!??? I have started sleeping in one of the guest rooms because I just wasn’t getting enough sleep. My husband wasn’t either because I was constantly waking him up. We both became very irritable. Now, we’re just as happy as can be.
Why does it matter if you actually “sleep” in the same bed? You’re asleep!

I have a couple questions for you. Does your husband snore evey night? and, does he fall asleep really fast? If so, it sounds like he is suffering from sleep apnea. Here is how sleep apnea occurs. The patient predisposed to obstructive sleep apnea has a small pharyngeal airway. During sleep, the pharyngeal muscles relax, allowing the airway to close. Lack of airflow results in repeated apneic episodes. Which means the patient wakes up to as many as four hundred times a night and the patient gets absolutly no sleep and there for is constinly tierd and can fall asleep at will.
I would suggest you have him do a sleep lab at your local hospital. What they will do is fit him for a mask and then wire him up and watch him sleep. If he is suffering from apnea they will wake him and turn the air on to the mask and then moniter his sleep again. When I say air I mean just that. It is air NOT OXYGEN.

How Do You Deal With Your Spouse Snoring?

I am wondering what people have found effective in reducing snoring in themselves and in their spouses. My wife claims that rubbing my back while I am snoring will make me stop (for a while at least), but she’s not above kicking me. Do you do something physical that works? Do you use ear plugs or sleeping pills? Do you just move to the couch or make your spouse sleep in another room?
For snorers, do you find that how you sleep affects your snoring? I tend to be quieter if I am sleeping on my side, but then I tend to wake up with my arm asleep. I suspect that pillows are mostly to blame for snoring when sleeping on your back. Other things seem to be gaining weight and having a cold.
