What Are The Physical Factors That Make You To Snore?
There are several physical factors that make you to snore. For most of the cases, these factors cause free flow air blockage in your mouth, nose and throat. Besides, there are other physical factors has affected your sleeping such as menopause and thyroid hormone.
These physical factors are :
- Obstructed nasal airways. Partially blocked nasal passages require extra effort to transfer air through them. This can pull together or collapse the non-rigid soft and dangling tissue, resulting in snoring. Some people snore only during allergy seasons or when they have a sinus infection.
- Poor muscle tone in the tongue and throat. When muscles are too relaxed, either from alcohol or drugs that cause sleepiness, the tongue falls backwards into the airway or the throat muscles draw in from the sides into the airway. This can also happen during deep sleep.
- Bulky throat tissue. Being overweight can cause bulky throat tissue. Children with large tonsils and adenoids will often snore.
- Long soft palate and/or uvula. A long palate narrows the opening from the nose into the throat. As it dangles, it acts as a noisy flutter valve during relaxed breathing. A long uvula makes matters even worse.
- Deformities of the nose or nasal septum. Deformities such as a deviated septum, nasal polyps, enlarged adenoids, sinusitis, and other abnormalities can cause such an obstruction.
- Menopause. Snoring occurs due to being in the menopause.
- Thyroid hormone. Snoring occurs as someone is having low levels of thyroid hormone (hypothyroidism).
